Steelers OT Colon is likely to miss season

The Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Willie Colon suffered a foot injury during Monday work outs, and many people’s guess was right, the injury was diagnosed to be a torn Achilles tendon and requires a surgery, which is scheduled to be had on Wednesday.

On the same day of Colon having the surgery, another Steelers offensive tackle, rookie Chris Scott is also going to undergo a surgery on his foot. By so far it still remains unsure what Scott’s playing status is going to be in his rookie season, but it’s almost sure that Colon will not be able to play on field with his teammates. The Steelers’ recent announcement only claimed what happened to the two players and did not tell what they are going to two with the two injuries.

Scott got injured almost shortly after he signed a brand new three-year contract that paid him $140,000 as signing bonus. If he had to skip the season for recovery from the surgery, the Steelers will have to look for offensive tackles from outside the team. As the first team to beat the Minnesota Vikings with the quarterback in No.4 Brett Favre jersey last season, the Steelers are holding great hope for another winning season.
